Star Wars was a large part of my personality in my teen years and twenties. I’ve gone to a lot of the Star Wars Celebrations, starting with the first one, and so have my kids starting as babies. I met my life long best friend in a Star Wars Young Jedi Knights message board and RP group. I have forgotten more about the Legends Expanded Universe than I ever knew about any subject in school.
These days Star Wars is more of an old friend. After all my EU got taken away and changed, I was never quite ready to start over and relearn the lore. I did get obsessed with the Rebels cartoon show for a while, especially because my kids loved it too.
I miss the feel of the EU books, but they also never had enough romance. So, here are some recent reads that all bring me back to my love of Star Wars and Science Fiction romance. They very in level of “science”ness but all are more Space Opera like Star Wars.

I loved this book so much because Ezren and Foster made such a great team together, whether as partners in the race or in a romantic relationship. Plus it was great to have the vibes of a sports romance combined with a deadly sci fi setting.

This book reminds me of all the things I loved about the Star Wars expanded universe and Firefly. Great swoony romance, fun adventure, well utilized outer space setting, and great found family.
